Privacy policy

01Who we are

WinterWorldProduction is an independent studio that makes games, films and apps. We are responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy.

You can reach us at contact [at] winterworldproduction.com.

02Contact form and email

When you send us a message through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, your email address, the subject you chose and your message. We only use these details to answer you and, if needed, to continue the conversation. We do this based on our legitimate interest in answering questions, or at your request before working together.

We keep your message as long as we need it to handle your question and then delete it, unless it is needed for a collaboration that follows from it. We never use your details for advertising and we do not sell or share them.

If a message cannot be emailed for a technical reason, it is kept in a protected folder on our web server that cannot be opened from the internet, so that it does not get lost.

03Cookies

Our website does not use tracking or advertising cookies and no analytics. We only use two functional cookies:

• lang remembers the language you chose, for one year.
• A session cookie (PHPSESSID) is only set when you use the contact form. It protects the form against spam and keeps what you typed if something is missing. It is deleted when you close your browser.

Because these cookies are needed for the features you use, we do not ask for separate permission.

04Hosting and server logs

Like every website, our web server automatically records technical data when you visit a page or download a file, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure. Our hosting provider processes this data on our behalf, and the logs are only kept for a limited time.

When you download the HappyCal app, this is recorded in the same way. We do not collect any other data about downloads.

05Fonts

Our website loads its fonts (Inter and Space Grotesk) from Google Fonts. Your browser then connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address. More information is in Google’s privacy policy.

06The HappyCal Health Center app

HappyCal is built to keep your data with you. Everything you enter (your profile, food, water, weight, workouts, check-ins and recipes) stays on your phone. There is no account, no server of ours and no advertising.

Only when you scan a barcode or search for a product online does the app send that barcode or search term to Open Food Facts to fetch the product. Open Food Facts sees your IP address, as with any website.

If you connect Health Connect, HappyCal only reads what you switch on (steps, sleep, workouts and weight). That data stays on your phone and is never sent anywhere. The app also makes a daily copy on your phone, which only travels with your phone backup if you have switched that on.

You can erase all data at any time in the app via Profile → Erase all data.

07Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive your data in a portable form. Send your request to contact [at] winterworldproduction.com and we will respond within one month.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.

08Changes

We may update this policy when our website or app changes. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
